Job summary

Nicklaus Children’s Health System seeks a Medical Director to provide strategic and clinical leadership for its premier pediatric hematology/oncology program in South Florida. Qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
• Florida medical license in good standing.
• Board certification in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology.
• 8–10 years of clinical pediatric hematology/oncology with progressive leadership responsibility.
• Experience engaging donors, academic partners, or community stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical direction and oversight for all clinical services within the Institute, including hematology, oncology, stem cell and bone marrow transplant, sickle cell disease, and related subspecialty programs.
• Ensure delivery of high-quality, evidence-based, family-centered care
• Oversee day-to-day clinical operations and tumor board leadership.
• Lead quality improvement, patient safety, and clinical outcomes initiatives.
• Maintain oversight of the cancer registry program and reporting standards.
• Mentor attending physicians, fellows, APPs, and nursing staff.
• Direct physician coverage models and on-call schedules.
• Oversee credentialing and performance evaluation of medical staff.
• Integrate palliative care, psychosocial support, and survivorship services.
• Develop and monitor operating and capital plans with leadership.
• Identify opportunities to grow clinical trial capacity and multidisciplinary care models.
• Represent the Institute in system-level planning and external engagement.
