Job summary

Paylocity is seeking an Operations specialist for the Elevate Solutions team in Lake Mary, FL. This 100% in-office role requires on-site presence five days a week.

You will handle complex payroll and HR data tasks, provide proactive client support, and collaborate across internal groups to ensure high-quality service. The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree, 2+ years in managed services, 3+ years in payroll services, and strong accuracy with data.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in Managed Services.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a payroll service bureau, benefits center, or payroll/HR administrator role.
  • Expert proficiency in payroll systems, HCM workflows, and data management.
  • Experience in customer service or client interfacing role with escalations handling.
  • Demonstrated accuracy, attention to detail, and strong time-management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Data accuracy and proficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Payroll administration: end-to-end tasks with high accuracy for flagship clients.
  • Data maintenance: manage HR, timekeeping, and pay data updates with complex changes.
  • Client issue resolution: lead complex service requests and escalations.
  • Knowledge management: maintain platform knowledge and contribute to documentation updates.
  • Quality & compliance: perform audits and reconciliations to ensure contract and regulatory compliance.
  • Support tax filings: assist with payroll tax filings and coordinate with teams to resolve issues.
  • Mentorship & leadership support: mentor team members and assist with onboarding and training.

In-Office

This is a 100% in-office role based at our Lake Mary, FL location. Remote or hybrid work is not available for this position. Candidates must be able to work on-site five days per week during designated work hours.

Position Overview

This roleserves asexpertsubject-matter resource within theElevate Solutionsteam, providing elevated support acrosskey Human Capital Management (HCM) functions, including payroll processing, HR data management, and client inquiry resolution. As the frontline of theElevate Solutionsteam, this roleis responsible forensuring theaccurateandtimelyexecution of recurring services, while providing proactive, high-touch support that exceeds client expectations.

Expectations
  • Strategic Client Partnership:Build deep, consultative, long-term relationships with executive-level and enterprise clients. Offer recommendations, identify trends, and participate in strategic discussions that deepen client trust and optimize operational outcomes.
  • Payroll & HR Data Entry:Maintain, process, and performexpert-level validation of payrolland HRIS data withexceptionalaccuracy and confidentiality acrossthe mostcomplex, high-revenueclient accounts.Providedirection and best-practice guidance to team members on complex scenarios.
  • Client Communication:Deliverexceptionalprompt, clear, and professional communication via phone, email, and ticketing systems; serve as a trustedadvisorfor complex
  • Ownership & Follow-Through:Fully own, manage and anticipate needs for complex clients. Lead resolution of escalations involving cross-functional teams and ensureresolution on requests.
  • Problem Solving:Diagnose and resolveadvancedpayroll and data discrepancies,conduct deeper root-cause analysis, and provide recommendations.Serve as an escalation point for team members as needed.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:Build strongpartnerships with key internal groups(e.g., Product Support, Tax, Benefits) to ensure seamless service delivery and resolution ofcomplex issues.Provide feedback onproduct gaps, recurring issues, and client insights that will support enhancements and improve client experience.
  • Process Adherence:Ensure full compliance with internal procedures, control protocols, and payroll policies, including client-specific processing requirements.
Responsibilities
  • Payroll Administration:Execute and oversee highly complex end-to-end payroll tasks, ensuring exceptional accuracy and alignment with executive-level client expectations. Conduct final reviews for flagship clients and support large-scale, sensitive, or multi-entity payroll cycles.
  • Data Maintenance:ManageintricateHR, timekeeping, and pay data updatesincluding complex changes and ensuring alignment with client expectations.Serve as the primary internal expert on interpreting client structures and their impact on data workflows.
  • Client Issue Resolution:Leadand resolvecomplexservice requests from clients,providing deeper support and stepping in to help elevate with team as needed.
  • Knowledge Management:Maintainexpert-levelknowledge of supported platforms, internal policies, and regulatory requirements relevant to client deliverables.Contribute totraining materials and documentation updates.
  • Quality & Compliance:Performadvancedaudits and reconciliation activities to ensure compliance with client contracts, internal standards, and external regulations.
  • Support Tax Filings:Provide expert assistancewith the preparation, validation, and tracking of payroll tax filings. Ensure awareness of deadlines, elevate discrepancies, and coordinate with internal teams to resolve tax-related issues.
  • Mentorship & Leadership Support:Act as an expert resource for the team,providing guidance, sharing expertise, and supporting other team members. Assist leadership with onboarding and trainingfor team members.
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Minimum 2years’ experiencein Managed Services required
  • Minimum3 years’ experience in a payroll service bureau, benefits center, or as a payroll/HR/benefits administrator required
  • Expertproficiencyin payroll systems, HCM workflows, and data management
  • Experience in customer service or previous client interfacing rolewith proven ability to manage escalations and complex inquiries.
  • Demonstrated accuracy, attention to detail, and strong time-management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.??

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit for extended periods: The role requires sitting at a desk or workstation for long periods, typically 7-8 hours a day.
  • Use of computer and phone systems: The employee must be able to operate a computer, use phone systems, and type. This includes using multiple software programs and inquiries simultaneously.
