Job summary

Caring Health Center in Springfield, MA, seeks an Adult Primary Care Medical Director and Assistant Chief Medical Officer to lead clinically and administratively. This role blends 50–60% outpatient clinical work with protected administrative time, reporting to the Chief Medical Officer.

You will mentor physicians, advance quality, population health, and value-based care, and shape staffing and programs for growth. Involvement in residency and academic partnerships may evolve.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree and accredited residency in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
• Board certification in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Geriatric Medicine, or applicable ambulatory subspecialty
• Massachusetts medical license or ability to obtain before starting
• DEA and Massachusetts Controlled Substances registrations or ability to obtain them
• Experience in patient-centered care and interest in clinical leadership/quality improvement

Responsibilities

• Provide physician leadership and clinical oversight for adult primary care
• Mentor, coach, and develop physicians and advanced practice providers
• Partner with clinical, nursing, operational, and administrative leaders to improve access, performance, care delivery, and patient experience
• Support clinician recruitment, onboarding, and professional development
• Help shape clinical strategy, staffing models, and organizational growth
• Play a key role in developing residency and academic partnerships as the center grows
• Maintain meaningful outpatient practice aligned with training and scope of practice
• Take on increasing responsibility in clinical operations and physician management
