Job summary

HEI Hotels & Resorts is seeking a Housekeeping Manager for the Virginia Beach Oceanfront Resort to lead housekeeping operations and ensure guest room and public area cleanliness to brand standards.

The role oversees staffing, budget, and training across properties, with oversight of overnight floor care where applicable, reporting to the Director of Services.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of management experience, with at least 3 years in housekeeping.
• Thorough knowledge of housekeeping operations; multiple brands preferred.
• Able to work with other department leaders and report clearly to a Director.
• Able to resolve guest, supervisor, and associate conflicts.
• Able to manage multiple tasks and have excellent organizational skills.
• Knowledge of hotel operations including marketing plans, security and safety programs, personnel and labor relations, budget forecasting, and quality assurance programs.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills, adaptable to different audiences.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and monitor staff workload to ensure cleanliness and maintenance standards, through inspections of guestrooms, public space areas, and pool areas.
• Oversee pool operations and overnight floor care, where applicable.
• Manage the housekeeping budget for hotel within the controls set by the Director of Services.
• Conduct periodic inventory of guest supplies and small equipment, including a monthly laundry inventory.
• Use labor management tools to schedule and control labor costs, and flex staffing with forecasted occupancy, F and B activity, and group events at properties.
• Interview, hire, train, develop, evaluate, and recommend discipline or termination for the Housekeeping Manager at each hotel and, when needed, other department staff.
• Monitor guest service scores and comments and take action to resolve guest issues and maintain satisfaction.
• Assist in evaluating the condition of furniture, fixtures, and decor.
• Make recommendations for the preventative maintenance program and rehab projects.
• Able and willing to personally perform or assist with hands‑on housekeeping duties when needed.
• Ensure compliance with housekeeping SOPs and policies.
• Operate the department pursuant to OSHA requirements and guidelines.
• Report on performance, budget status, and staffing to the Director of Services.
• Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.
