Job summary

Hotel Equities is seeking an experienced Executive Housekeeper to lead our housekeeping and laundry teams, ensuring guest rooms and public spaces meet brand standards for cleanliness and presentation. This hands-on leader will manage staffing, training, and performance while controlling labor costs and inventory.

You will collaborate with Engineering and other departments, oversee safety procedures, and drive a culture of teamwork and guest satisfaction across all hotel operations.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous housekeeping leadership experience in a hotel environment required.
  • Executive Housekeeper or Assistant Executive Housekeeper preferred.
  • Experience with Marriott, Hilton, Hyatt, IHG, Wyndham, or other major hotel brands preferred.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and team-building abilities.
  • Excellent organizational, planning, and time management skills.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and hotel property management systems is preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, supervise, schedule, and motivate the housekeeping and laundry teams.
  • Ensure guest rooms, public areas, meeting spaces, and back-of-house areas meet cleanliness standards.
  • Conduct daily room inspections and quality assurance audits.
  • Develop staffing schedules to maximize productivity.
  • Recruit, onboard, train, coach, and evaluate housekeeping associates.
  • Foster a culture focused on teamwork, accountability, safety, and guest satisfaction.
  • Manage department labor costs, operating expenses, and inventory within budget guidelines.
  • Order and maintain housekeeping supplies, linens, amenities, and cleaning equipment.
  • Coordinate preventative maintenance needs with Engineering and report deficiencies.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and brand safety policies.
  • Respond promptly to guest requests and service issues.
  • Monitor lost and found procedures and documentation.
  • Maintain departmental records, reports, inventories, and payroll documentation.
  • Support hotel initiatives and QA programs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by hotel leadership.

Job Purpose

The Executive Housekeeper is responsible for planning, directing, and managing the daily operations of the Housekeeping Department. This leader ensures exceptional cleanliness throughout the hotel while maintaining labor productivity, inventory controls, and departmental budgets. The Executive Housekeeper develops and coaches a high-performing team that delivers outstanding service and creates memorable guest experiences.

What You’ll Do

  • Recruit, onboard, train, coach, and evaluate housekeeping associates.

  • Manage department labor costs, operating expenses, and inventory within budget guidelines.
  • Order and maintain housekeeping supplies, linens, amenities, and cleaning equipment.
  • Coordinate preventative maintenance needs with the Engineering Department and promptly report maintenance deficiencies.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, hotel safety policies, chemical handling procedures, and brand standards.
  • Respond professionally and promptly to guest requests, concerns, and service recovery opportunities.
  • Monitor lost and found procedures and ensure proper documentation.
  • Maintain accurate departmental records, reports, inventories, and payroll documentation.
  • Support hotel initiatives, inspections, and brand quality assurance programs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by hotel leadership.

Physical Requirements

This position requires the ability to:

  • Walk and stand for extended periods throughout the workday.
  • Frequently bend, stoop, kneel, reach, climb stairs, and occasionally use ladders.
  • Lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Inspect guest rooms and public spaces throughout the property.
  • Safely operate housekeeping equipment and cleaning machinery.
  • Work with approved commercial cleaning chemicals while following safety protocols.
  • Occasionally assist housekeeping staff with room cleaning as business demands require.
