Job summary

Amex GBT is seeking a Senior Event Manager to plan and deliver highly complex programs for a dedicated Experience Studio team. You will lead multiday executive events for 500+ attendees, manage budgets above $1 million, and supervise onsite teams.

The role requires collaboration with producers to turn briefs into executable plans while controlling costs and timelines. You will mentor Event Managers, maintain comprehensive planning files, and raise risks early with recommended actions.

Qualifications

• Seven or more years planning corporate meetings, events, and incentives.
• Budgets above $1 million with forecasts and reconciliations.
• Multiday executive programs for audiences 500+ with onsite leadership.
• Experience as planning lead beside a producer or senior owner.
• Strong hotel and supplier contract skills: attrition, cancellations, minimums.
• Proficient with Cvent and enterprise project tools; comfortable in client-owned environments.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver complex programs from kickoff to onsite execution and close.
• Lead planning with the producer, forecasting time and cost impacts.
• Manage program budgets from initial estimate through final reconciliation.
• Develop detailed planning calendars and monitor adherence to dates.
• Oversee day-to-day supplier management: hotels, venues, transport, F&B, destinations.
• Coordinate attendee housing, registration, and communications in Cvent.
