Job summary

NLB Services seeks an accomplished healthcare leader to provide strategic, operational, and financial oversight for Women’s and Newborn Services across multiple hospital campuses. The Director will lead Labor & Delivery, maternity services, NICU, and related programs to ensure high-quality care and efficient operations.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Nursing (MSN) or related field is required.
• Current Iowa RN license required; BLS certification required.
• Compact RN license accepted; valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative and operational leadership for Women’s and Newborn Services across multiple hospital campuses.
• Develop, manage, and monitor departmental budgets and resource utilization.
• Establish strategic priorities and partnerships to support objectives.
• Direct clinical operations including staffing, standards, pathways, and performance improvement.
• Serve as liaison for physicians and Medical Staff leadership.
• Assess staffing, equipment, supplies, and financial resources per needs.
• Collaborate to improve patient flow, transitions of care, and cross-department coordination.
• Maintain regulatory, accreditation, and designation requirements.
• Analyze quality indicators and outcomes to identify improvement opportunities.
• Apply reimbursement knowledge to assess efficiency and financial performance.
• Identify service expansion opportunities and lead new program implementations.
• Promote patient- and family-centered care with high quality, safety, and cost effectiveness.
• Set goals and monitor performance; provide coaching and mentorship.
• Ensure consistent standards of care across campuses and adapt to patient populations.
• Foster patient and employee safety culture and Just Culture principles.
• Encourage innovation in clinical practice and care delivery.
• Lead nursing and healthcare trend initiatives while supporting professional practice.
• Support shared governance and nursing practice models.
