Upper Saranac Foundation in Saranac Lake, NY is seeking an Executive Director to lead our conservation efforts across the Upper Saranac watershed. You will steward programs, manage staff, and work with the Board to advance the Watershed Management Plan.

Ideal candidate has nonprofit leadership experience, passion for water quality, and ability to build partnerships with local government, community groups, and donors. Residence in the Adirondacks is preferred.

Qualifications

• Proven nonprofit management experience with focus on environment and watershed issues.
• Experience with grant writing and fundraising.
• Strong public speaking and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Ability to develop partnerships with government, academia, and community groups.
• Familiarity with GIS/ArcGIS as a management tool.

Responsabilités

• Lead implementation of the watershed management plan and identify threats.
• Raise awareness through communications, press, and social media.
• Serve as primary liaison to the Board and manage budgets.
• Champion best practices for water quality and recreational use.
• Build relationships with property owners and donors.
• Develop partnerships with regional organizations and agencies.
• Develop programs and ensure staffing aligns with vision.
