Job summary

Central Conservation seeks an accomplished, driven Executive Director to lead the organization forward, reporting to a Board of Directors and advancing its conservation mission in the Driftless Region and beyond.

The role requires exceptional listening, communication, and relationship-building skills, with responsibility for strategic leadership, financial planning, fundraising, and staff development to ensure growth and impact.

Qualifications

• > Minimum of 5 years of professional leadership experience leading an organization or division.
• > Experience building and aligning an organization to a vision for innovation and growth.
• > Demonstrated experience as the external face of an organization.
• > Demonstrated competency in fundraising and all facets of advancement.
• > Thorough understanding of nonprofit financial planning, budgeting, cash flow management and public financing.

Responsibilities

• Lead the organization with a strategic, mission-driven approach to ensure financial sustainability.
• Oversee fundraising, strategic planning, program development, partnerships, and outreach.
• Cultivate relationships with government agencies, donors, foundations, and partners.
