Job summary

Grand Valley State University is seeking an Executive Director for Student Success to lead advising initiatives and campus-wide student success programs. The role oversees the First-Year Academic Experience, Student Academic Success Center, Laker Academic Success Center, and Exploratory Advising Center, aligning policies with inclusive access and measurable outcomes.

Required are a Master’s degree and 10+ years in student success with strong leadership, supervision, and data analytics skills.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in higher education administration or related field.
• Minimum of ten years in student success.
• Administrative or academic leadership experience.
• Experience supervising staff and building teams.
• Experience working with diverse students, staff and faculty.
• Excellent written and spoken communication.
• Experience with data-informed advising and assessment.

Responsibilities

• Lead advising systems and policies across campus to ensure equitable access.
• Oversee and coordinate the Student Academic Success Center and related centers.
• Direct supervision of the Student Success Software Specialist and budget planning.
• Collaborate with IT, Registrar, Enrollment Development, and Student Affairs on tech integration.
• Support First-Year Academic Experience and related courses.
• Partner with institutional analysis on student success data and outreach.
