Job summary

Austin Outside seeks its first Executive Director to lead a dynamic coalition dedicated to outdoor access and environmental stewardship in Greater Austin. The ED will work with the Board to set long‑term strategy, oversee operations, and grow impact and credibility through strong partnerships.

Ideal candidates have 6+ years in senior leadership, proven fundraising ability, and a track record of building inclusive, mission‑driven teams.

Qualifications

• Experience 6+ years in a senior leadership role; nonprofit experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Board to set and execute AO’s long‑term vision and strategic plan.
• Provide leadership and management to assure AO is well‑respected and financially secure.
• Represent AO and its mission to members, funders, supporters, leaders, and community at large.
• Oversee development of strategic and operational partnerships.
• Drive strategies for membership growth and retention that align with AO’s mission.
