Job Title: Executive Director of Operations (Chief Operations Officer)
Reports to: Executive Director of Schools (CEO)

Wage/Hour Status: Exempt
Pay Grade: Admin 5; 220 days

Terms of Employment:
This FLSA exempt position (salaried, non-hourly) is on a work calendar of 220 days per school year. Salary is based on experience in administrative roles.

Qualifications
  • ? Bachelor’s degree in education, business, supply chain management, operations management, finance or related field required.
  • ? Minimum of ten years in advanced administrative roles, focusing on operational oversight or financial strategy within complex organizations.

Experience
  • ? Five years of operations experience in a leadership role, preferably within public education.

Major Responsibilities and Duties
  • Regarding all areas assigned:
    • ? Work with assigned staff to develop and implement a strategic plan for the management and monitoring of outcomes through assigned staff as adopted by board goals.
    • ? Direct and monitor the impact of decisions in relation to desired outcomes of ACA.
    • ? Intervene and adapt administration plans as necessary.
    • ? Monitor the progress of strategic plans and provide immediate recommendations for revisions when internal or external shifts impact organizational efficiency or expected outcomes.
    • ? Propose and maintain budgets appropriate to efficiently and effectively utilize resources to accomplish adopted goals; compile budget and cost estimates based upon documented program needs; manage departmental budgets effectively and efficiently.
    • ? Direct, recommend, and apply policies and procedures that maintain efforts toward district goals. ? Lead multi-departmental strategy by evaluating critical challenges and implementing high-impact solutions.
    • ? Oversee operational objectives across multiple outsourced departments or services district wide.
    • ? Ensure compliance with district, state, and national policies and procedures.
    • ? Develop leadership and inspire others
  • Specifically:
    • Maintenance and Operations:
      • ? Develop and implement a strategic plan for facilities management aligned with the district’s goals utilizing the strengths of the staff and resources available.
      • ? Collaborate with educational leaders to ensure facilities support evolving educational needs including student and staff safety.
      • ? Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs for all district facilities.
      • ? Ensure efficient operation of key building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, technology, servers and server rooms, etc)
      • ? Develop and manage budgets for facilities maintenance.
      • ? Negotiate and manage contracts, monitoring performance and adherence to contractual obligations.
      • ? Collaborate with the bond program administration on activities related to bond construction/ renovation and long-term facilities strategic planning.
      • ? Develop and implement a strategic plan for integrated pest management. Ensure compliance with all applicant regulations related and proper documentation for inspection.
    • Logistics:
      • ? Coordinate and oversee certain student services as assigned (ie: Child Nutrition, Technology services).
      • ? Develop and implement a strategic plan for student transportation services aligned with the district’s educational goals. ? Partner with educational leadership to align transportation services with evolving instructional needs while maintaining strict compliance with laws and regulations.       • ? Direct district-wide facilities use procedures to ensure operational efficiency and adherence to all governing laws.
      • ? Oversee special projects as assigned.
    • Community and Family Engagement:
      • ? Develop and implement a strategic plan for the district’s family recruitment and enrollment experience that aligns with district goals.
      • ? Direct and coordinate the student health advisory committee.
      • ? Work with PTO and other organizations to ensure ACA’s culture of community meets ACA’s goals and expectations.
      • ? Represent ACA in the community, as needed.
    • Student Experience:
      • ? Direct/assist in district level involvement in extracurricular activities for students.
  • Additional Duties:
    • ? Develop and manage budgets for non-instructional services, ensuring financial sustainability and adherence to fiscal policies.
    • ? Allocate resources effective to support the district’s operational needs.
    • ? Identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising the quality of operational services.
    • ? Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to building codes, accessibility and safety.
    • ? Collaborate on initiatives that integrate instructional and operational functions.
    • ? Act as a district liaison and executive advisor to the CEO during strategic interactions with civic, corporate, and governmental partners concerning organizational systems.
    • ? Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
  • Supervisory Responsibilities:

    Coordinator of Faciendum Est, Coordinator of Facilities, Coordinator of Technology, Coordinator of Fundraising and Development, Child Nutrition Director, and/or other roles as assigned in the adopted organizational chart; subject to change

  • Equipment:

    Personal computer, computer software programs and peripherals, copier, Fax machine, and other equipment applicable to position.
