  • Assist with on-call/after-hours coverage.

Executive - Director Of Nursing - DON

Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers

Description:The Nursing Director provides leadership and operational direction to the Residential Living component.The Director works with other leadership to ensure optimal patient care, financial goals, and leadership development.Job duties are typically distributed as follows: 20% tactical (staffing, equipment, employee relations), 50% operational (budget management, supply acquisition, process improvement, performance evaluations), and 30% strategic (developing goals, holding employees accountable).This role provides the opportunity to work in a mission-based environment with abundant outdoor recreational opportunities.Becoming a part of this team means gaining a family and finding a place to plant your roots.Benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage along with wellness programs that address holistic health.There are financial wellness tools and retirement planning options available.Eligible candidates can participate in an annual pay-for-performance opportunity.To assist with the transition into the organization, a sign-on and/or relocation bonus may be offered when applicable.The Nursing Director champions the use of resources to ensure nursing care is efficient, effective, safe, and delivered with compassion.Facilitates collaborative decision-making and contributes departmental perspectives to executive decisions.Assists with the development, implementation, and management of the annual budget for the unit.Models and fosters an environment of professionalism and employee engagement.Ensures a competent and sufficient number of staff to meet patient care needs, including hiring, orientation, retention, and employee satisfaction.Accountable for the implementation of clinical program protocols and ensures ongoing monitoring and process improvement occurs to achieve goals.Collaborates with colleagues in the development and implementation of clinical program goals.Evaluates staff competency through performance reviews and peer reviews.Coordinates performance and compliance with patient safety initiatives and regulatory bodies.Facilitates the use of resources by nursing staff.Serves as an exemplary figure for employees in providing patient care.Monitors and improves patient satisfaction utilizing available service metrics and national benchmarks to develop action plans.Partners with physicians at the unit level to achieve clinical, operational, and service goals.Supports staff participation in community organizations such as volunteer health clinics and health fairs.Will have direct reports and manage clinical performance and patient care standards.The Director may need to work on the floor and help with on-call/after-hour coverage.Experience managing staff is a critical requirement for this role.The team is open to contract-to-hire candidates.
