Middle East Institute (MEI) in Washington, DC, seeks a seasoned Chief Development Officer to design and lead MEI's fundraising strategy, diversifying revenue and strengthening donor relationships worldwide. This in-person role requires hands-on leadership with Board collaboration to advance MEI's mission and programs.

Qualifications

• At least ten years of major gifts fundraising experience.
• Proven ability to design and lead major-gift campaigns.
• Experience building and leading a development function and team.
• Experience partnering with boards and senior leaders on fundraising goals.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement MEI's comprehensive development strategy.
• Lead fundraising priorities with the Board and senior leadership.
• Diversify funding sources and revenue models.
• Lead organization-wide fundraising efforts and coordinate stakeholders.
• Build and develop the development team and set performance standards.
• Design and lead major-gift campaigns and steward major donors and institutions.
• Expand MEI's donor base and engage new audiences and funders.
• Develop fundraising communications and cases for support.
• Oversee grants opportunities and proposal submissions.
• Establish annual and long-term fundraising plans with KPIs.
