Job summary

The Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (FLHSMV) seeks a Director of Motorist Services to lead the Division of Motorist Services. The role directs licensing, titling, budgeting, and strategic planning, reporting to the executive leadership team and coordinating with county tax collectors and state agencies.

Ideal candidates will have 5+ years in executive leadership within a large organization, with a background in public administration or management, and strong policy,

Qualifications

• Executive leadership experience directing a large, multi-functional organization.
• Ability to communicate an organizational vision and implement it in a changing environment.
• Experience planning and overseeing statewide operations with focus on customer service excellence.
• Knowledge of Florida statutes related to driver licenses and motor vehicle titling/registration.

Responsibilities

• Direct a major division: driver licensing and motor vehicle titling.
• Provide strategic planning for future needs and directions of the department.
• Oversee development of the division's budget request and manage large budgets and staff.
• Liaise with 67 county tax collectors and external stakeholders; present briefs to executives.
