Job summary

Mount Sopris Montessori School in Colorado is seeking an Executive Director to provide strategic, financial, and organizational leadership for the school. You will work with the Board of Directors to set direction, oversee the Montessori program, and supervise the Assistant Director and staff to ensure a high-quality learning environment.

Montessori training is provided on onboarding. This full-time, in-person role requires strong governance, fundraising experience, and a commitment to early

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or similar.
• Qualifies as Director under current CDEC requirements for a Large Child Care Center (or can obtain CDEC Director qualification verification before start).
• Senior leadership or Board-level experience in a school, nonprofit, or comparable organization.
• Budget development and financial management experience.
• Fundraising, development, or donor relations experience.
• Demonstrated ability to lead through organizational change.
• Sound judgment handling confidential and sensitive matters.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic, financial, and organizational leadership for the school.
• Set direction with the Board of Directors and supervise the Assistant Director and staff.
• Ensure licensing compliance as Colorado's Director of Record.
• Oversee Montessori program delivery and day-to-day operations.
• Coordinate with Board meetings and school events.
