Job summary

Gretna Public Schools Foundation seeks an Executive Director to provide strategic leadership, build relationships, and secure resources for district initiatives and Gretna Kids Connection. The role requires nonprofit leadership, fundraising experience, and strong financial stewardship.

You will work with the Foundation Board, district partners, alumni, and the community with a focus on accountability and impact.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred; relevant professional and leadership experience will also be considered.
• Leadership experience in nonprofit management, fundraising, community engagement, education, business, or a related field.
• Demonstrated ability to build relationships and inspire financial and community support.
• Experience working effectively with boards, committees, volunteers, and community stakeholders.
• Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, analysis, and reporting.
• Experience leading and developing employees.
• Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong strategic planning, organization, and time-management abilities.
• High professionalism, integrity, judgment, and accountability.
• Knowledge of public education or before- and after-school programming is a plus.
• Comfort with donor-management/CRM systems.

Responsibilities

• The Executive Director is the Foundation’s chief executive and primary public ambassador, providing strategic leadership and building relationships, resources, systems, and accountability for long-term success.
• Works closely with the Board, school leadership, donors, businesses, civic leaders, families, alumni, volunteers, and community partners; oversees Gretna Kids Connection.
• Develops and implements fundraising strategies and cultivates donors, sponsors, grants, and events to support programs and initiatives.
• Leads organizational governance, board partnerships, reporting, and policy development; supports board recruitment and engagement.
