Job summary

KidsWork Children's Museum, as a division of the Village of New Lenox, is seeking an Executive Director to lead operations, grow community partnerships, and advance educational programs for children and families. Reports to the Community Engagement Director and works Monday–Friday in a full-time capacity.

The role emphasizes strategic leadership, budget oversight, staff development, and initiatives that expand memberships, admissions, and community participation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 5 years of management experience.
• Experience with oversight of facilities, equipment and exhibits.
• Experience with creation of childhood educational programs and exhibits.
• Experience with marketing including print, media and social networks.

Responsibilities

• Provide effective leadership to the museum and ensure an exceptional visitor experience.
• Develop partnerships with local organizations and supporters to advance the museum's direction.
• Assist in developing a clear and strategic vision and budget for the museum.
• Oversee all aspects of operations, finances and staff.
