Job summary

Meet Life Sciences in the Bay Area seeks an Executive Director of Clinical Science to shape a global clinical development strategy alongside the CMO and executive leadership. This role directly influences program strategy and clinical development while building a scalable Clinical Science organization.

The position drives early Phase I/II programs, protocol strategy, safety data interpretation, and strong partnerships with CROs, investigators and operations to deliver high-quality trials.

Qualifications

• Significant Clinical Science leadership within biotechnology/pharmaceutical development.
• Experience supporting early-stage global clinical development programs (Phases I/II).
• Strong background interpreting clinical safety and efficacy data.
• Experience partnering with Clinical Operations and multidisciplinary development teams.
• Excellent scientific communication skills with ability to present complex clinical data.

Responsibilities

• Provide scientific leadership across global Phase I and II studies.
• Partner on protocol development, study design and execution.
• Lead review and interpretation of safety and efficacy data.
• Support Data Monitoring Committees and internal governance meetings.
• Present emerging clinical data to executives, investors and external collaborators.
• Collaborate with CROs, investigators and sites to ensure trial delivery.
• Contribute to publications, congress presentations and scientific communications.
• Mentor and develop members of the Clinical Science organization.
