Job summary

The Nebraska Brand Committee seeks an accomplished Executive Director to lead the agency, oversee brand inspection operations, and manage budgets and staff. The role requires strategic leadership, strong communication, and a thorough understanding of Nebraska’s livestock industry.

Residency within the designated brand inspection area is required. Responsibilities include fiscal oversight, regulatory compliance, legislative engagement, and public relations, with accountability to the Committee

Qualifications

• Combination of education, experience, leadership ability in public or nonprofit settings.
• Experience budgeting, fiscal management, and staff oversight is preferred.
• Understanding Nebraska livestock industry is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide executive leadership and administer agency operations as head of the Nebraska Brand Committee.
• Develop and monitor the annual operating budget and fiscal plans.
• Oversee brand inspection operations and staff performance, training and development.
• Recruit, hire, supervise, and evaluate agency personnel.
• Maintain relationships with livestock industry stakeholders and public officials.
• Represent the agency before legislative committees and in regulatory matters.
