Job summary

Harmony Senior Services seeks an Executive Director to oversee operations, marketing, and finances for a senior living community. The role ensures regulatory compliance, drives resident satisfaction, and leads a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care and services.

The ED will manage budgeting, NOI objectives, and survey processes, while maintaining occupancy and strong community relations. Located within the service area, you’ll report to the Harmony leadership team and guide

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required with leadership experience in senior living or healthcare operations.
  • Demonstrated success managing all aspects of senior community operations.
  • Strong sales leadership and ability to drive census growth.
  • Proven financial management proficiency and budgeting skills.
  • Ability to build relationships with community groups and regulators.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in preparation of the community budget and monitor budgets.
  • Review monthly financials and prepare variance reports.
  • Lead contract approvals for services and manage capital projects.
  • Plan for survey processes and correction plans as needed.
  • Maintain relations with regulatory agencies and ensure occupancy targets.

2141 North Dan Jones Road, Avon, Indiana 46123 Job Description The Executive Director shall have full responsibility for the operation and management of the community and for all marketing, business, and financial functions of the community in accordance with the policies of the management company, the Owners, and Federal/State/Local laws and regulations.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee all hiring practices to ensure that the facility is in compliance with local, state, and federal laws.
  • Ensure that staff is hired within budgetary guidelines.
  • Participate in preparation of the community budget.
  • Train all department heads on maintaining a budget and oversee budgetary compliance in each department while also maintaining effective levels of care and primary resident day expense obligations.
  • Review monthly financials with all department heads and prepare a variance report in keeping with company guidelines.
  • Develop plans of correction as needed.
  • Lead the approval process for all contracts for services provided within the community.
  • Achieve budgeted NOI.
  • Comply with all local, state, and federal regulations and stay aware of relevant changes and updates.
  • Plan for and manage the survey process and prepare all plans of correction.
  • Maintain good relations with local and state regulatory agencies.
  • Oversee the completion of all risk assessments and necessary family and physician communication for at-risk residents.
  • Oversee corporate and state compliance with incident reporting guidelines.
  • Maintain or exceed budgeted occupancy.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of the marketing plan.
  • Sustain good resident relations through daily visits and monitor resident and family morale.
  • Oversee monthly Resident Council Meetings.
  • Oversee the Resident and Family Grievance Process.
  • Oversee the resident move‑in process to ensure a smooth transition for all new residents and their families.
  • Oversee the resident satisfaction survey program and call families to address any concerns noted or when a survey is not returned.
  • Ensure enforcement of the Resident Bill of Rights.
  • Make daily rounds to ensure that the building is clean and furniture is placed appropriately.
  • Oversee routine and preventative maintenance programs.
  • Oversee Capital Improvement projects as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 3 years’ experience working as an Executive Director.
  • Must hold a current administrative license for the state in which the position is located.
  • Demonstrated success managing all aspects of senior community operations.
  • Strong sales leadership skills.
  • Ability to build relationships with community groups that will help grow census.
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to problem solve.
  • Ability to lead a management team and promote staff development.
  • Demonstrated record of financial management proficiency.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Thorough knowledge of state and federal regulations.
  • To ensure timely response to community emergencies on weekends or after hours, the Executive Director must live within a thirty (30) mile radius of their assigned community.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Must be able to lift, carry, and push up to 25 lbs.
