Job summary

The Oregon Department of Corrections seeks a highly skilled Correctional Institution Manager 1 for Santiam Correctional Institution (SCI) in Salem. This senior role reports to the Superintendent and leads security, staffing, and institutional operations to ensure safety and compliance.

Responsibilities include overseeing Lieutenants, Sergeants, Corporals, and Officers, managing budgets and training, and participating on the statewide Security Management Team.

Qualifications

• Five (5) years of lead work, supervision, or progressively related experience.
• Two (2) years of related experience AND a bachelor’s degree in a related field.

Responsibilities

• Oversee security operations, staffing, and facility requirements.
• Lead security supervisors, lieutenants, and officers; ensure policy compliance.
• Manage training, hiring processes, investigations, and performance evaluations.
• Act as Officer-in-Charge during emergencies and support executive leadership.
