About the Role

We are looking for an Executive Communications Manager to shape and amplify the thought leadership platforms of our senior leadership team. The role sits within the Communications team and is responsible for crafting high‑impact narratives that bridge our technical innovations in space with their real‑world impact across commercial and governmental sectors. The primary partner will be our CEO, while also serving as a strategic advisor to the broader executive bench, ensuring a consistent and compelling leadership presence across speaking events, press and podcast engagements, and influencer collaborations. Ideal candidates are passionate about our mission to image the world every day and make change visible, accessible, and actionable.

This is a full‑time, hybrid position that requires working from our San Francisco office three days per week.

Responsibilities
  • Executive Thought Leadership: Lead the narrative for Planet’s CEO, weaving space, AI, sustainability, security, and more.
  • Content Strategy & Creation: Develop and execute high‑level content, including press opportunities, op‑eds, keynote presentations, and long‑form messaging. Work with the social media lead on owned content and brand growth.
  • Global Event Presence: Drive executive strategy and presence at top‑tier global forums such as the Munich Security Conference, World Economic Forum, and others.
  • Executive Bench Support: Act as a strategic advisor and ghostwriter for our executive bench, including the President & CFO, Co‑Founder & CSO, Chief Space Officer, and Chief Revenue Officer.
  • Internal & External Alignment: Coordinate with Marketing, Government Affairs, and Product teams to ensure executive messaging is synchronized with Planet’s core values, mission, and commercial objectives.
What You Bring
  • Experience: 6‑8 years of executive or corporate communications experience, preferably in a high‑growth technology environment.
  • Executive Presence: Ability to work directly with C‑suite leaders, providing actionable feedback and navigating dynamic personalities and competing priorities.
  • Exceptional Writing: Master storyteller who can translate complex technical concepts into clear, compelling narratives for a global, non‑technical audience. Immaculate attention to detail.
  • Strategic Agility: Success in developing earned and owned media programs that deliver measurable brand awareness and credibility. Self‑starter who thrives on proactivity rather than reactive work.
What Makes You Stand Out
  • Industry Savvy: Existing relationships with major media outlets, events, and influencers.
  • Multimedia Expertise: Experience with video scripts and digital engagement strategies for platforms such as LinkedIn and X.
  • Geopolitical Acumen: Knowledge of the intersection between commercial space capabilities and national security.
