Job summary

The Church Pension Group is seeking an Executive Underwriter for Commercial Lines to steward high-exposure accounts within top authority and help shape underwriting policy. This individual contributor works closely with the CUO to reinforce underwriting discipline and lead policy development.

Hybrid work is in place, with office presence Tuesday through Thursday and remote work on Mondays and Fridays. The role requires technical mentorship, collaboration, and strategic oversight of underwriting

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred with progression toward professional designations.
  • 5+ years of progressive commercial underwriting experience.
  • Strong analytical and mentoring abilities.
  • Ability to work independently or with diverse professionals.

Responsibilities

  • Underwrite high-exposure Commercial Lines accounts within highest delegated authority.
  • Provide technical guidance to underwriting staff for risk selection and pricing.
  • Partner with leadership to shape Commercial Lines underwriting strategy.
  • Mentor underwriting staff and support CUO initiatives.
  • Maintain guidelines, authority levels, and procedures.
  • Lead quality control and file reviews for compliance and accuracy.
  • Manage key third‑party relationships to meet customer needs.
  • Collaborate on-site with colleagues for relationship building.
