Job summary

Hartman Executive Advisors is seeking a Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) to lead holistic Information Technology Security Programs across Hartman’s financial services client portfolios, primarily consisting of community banks and credit unions that address the full scope of cybersecurity, risk management, and compliance domains.

This is a senior-level, client-facing role responsible for advising executive leadership and driving measurable program improvements.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in cyber security leadership roles, preferably within a community bank or credit union environment.
• Ability to translate technical concepts into business-level risk and executive decision support.
• Experience with cloud security, identity, incident response, third-party risk, and modern cybersecurity architectures.

Responsibilities

• Lead cybersecurity, risk management, and compliance strategy across multiple client organizations
• Engage directly with CEOs, CFOs, COOs, CIOs, and boards
• Build modern, resilient security programs aligned to business outcomes
• Translate evolving threats into clear, actionable roadmaps
• Help clients navigate cloud, identity, regulatory, and AI-driven risk
• Serve as a trusted, independent advisor
