Flik Independent School Dining is seeking an Executive Chef to lead all culinary operations at Berkshire School in Sheffield, Massachusetts, serving approximately 425 students in grades 9-12. This hands-on leadership role requires a strong dedication to food quality, safety, innovation, and service excellence.

You will lead all aspects of a team of culinary associates, run kitchen operations, and partner closely with the school community to deliver a dining experience that meets the highest

Qualifications

• Culinary degree or equivalent professional training preferred.
• 3–5 years of dynamic culinary management experience.
• Experience leading high-volume foodservice or catering operations.
• Proficiency with kitchen software and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Lead all culinary functions including menu planning, food preparation, recipe development, and service execution.
• Manage food and labor costs, budget compliance, and cost-control strategies.
• Purchase food and supplies; oversee vendor relationships and inventory.
• Ensure food safety, sanitation, and allergy protocols; uphold HACCP standards.
• Recruit, train, and mentor culinary team members; foster excellence and safety.
• Collaborate with marketing and culinary teams to launch seasonal menus.
• Support events and catering with high-quality execution.
• Supervise back-of-house operations and ensure compliance with standards.
• Work with the Director of Dining on performance management and evaluations.
