Role Overview

Do you have a passion to take raw ingredients and re-imagine them into something someone appreciates and finds delicious?

Sodexo is seeking an Executive Chef 2 to join our culinary team at upscale retirement communities in the Chicago, Illinois region. This role involves overseeing daily culinary operations with a hands-on approach, including training and developing the culinary team. The ideal candidate will have experience in fine dining and a strong passion for high-level customer service. We welcome applicants with backgrounds in senior living, restaurant, or country club leadership.

What You'll Do

  • Oversee daily dining operations, including menu planning and controls;
  • Ensure Sodexo Culinary Standards, including recipe compliance and food quality;
  • Maintain high standards for food quality and presentation;
  • Develop and train culinary staff.

  • Catering and large-volume experience;

  • Experience supervising culinary teams and strong HR and management skills;
  • Exceptional communication skills;
  • Hands-on, innovative leadership style;
  • Passion for high-level customer service and relationship management;
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities;
  • Financial acumen and experience managing food service budgets;
  • Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Minimum Education: Associate's Degree or equivalent experience;
  • Minimum Management Experience: 2 years;
  • Minimum Functional Experience: 2 years in food or culinary services, including restaurants, catering, institutional, or retail food service.
