Job summary

Sila seeks a VP of Foundry Operations to build and lead battery cell manufacturing from pilot to full industrialization, reporting to the COO. You will own site selection, plant construction, equipment spec, vendor ecosystem, line commissioning, product introductions, and production scaling.

This executive role collaborates with Battery R&D and RD&E, translating proven technology into high-yield, bankable operations while balancing strategy with hands-on execution.

Qualifications

• Executive leadership experience in operational, manufacturing, or engineering functions (15+ years).
• Scale-up experience from pilot to giga scale production.
• Hands-on battery cell manufacturing process knowledge across blocks (dry/clean rooms, electrode, assembly, formation).
• Experience with large capital programs ($100M+ CapEx/OpEx) and international OEM ecosystems.
• Cross-functional collaboration with commercial/R&D for manufacturability.
• Proven ability to hire and grow multisite engineering/operations teams.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute Foundry Operations strategy from pilot to multi-GWh scale.
• Lead site evaluation, facility delivery, equipment selection, and capability design.
• Direct equipment specification, line layouts, RFQ/tendering, vendor selection, commissioning, handover.
