Position Summary

The Executive Assistant General Manager is a senior operational leader responsible for supporting the overall performance, hospitality culture, team development, and daily execution of the Dallas Mavericks Performance Center's food and beverage operation.


This role requires a polished hospitality executive capable of leading a highly visible operation where discretion, professionalism, operational precision, and exceptional service are expected every day. Working closely with the General Manager and culinary leadership, the Executive Assistant General Manager ensures seamless execution across dining operations, player dining, executive hospitality, special events, and workplace dining experiences.


The ideal candidate is a confident, highly organized leader with exceptional hospitality instincts, strong financial acumen, emotional intelligence, and the ability to inspire high-performing teams while consistently delivering an elevated guest experience.


Core Responsibilities: Executive Operational Leadership


  • Support the General Manager in leading all aspects of daily food and beverage operations, service execution, team performance, and operational results.

  • Assume full operational leadership in the General Manager's absence.

  • Maintain a highly visible presence throughout the operation while actively supporting service execution and guest engagement.

  • Ensure flawless execution across player dining, executive dining, grab-and-go, training table service, catering, and special events.

  • Anticipate operational challenges and implement timely, effective solutions.

  • Translate strategic initiatives into daily operational priorities and measurable results.


Hospitality & Guest Experience


  • Champion a culture of refined, anticipatory hospitality and personalized service.

  • Ensure every interaction reflects the Dallas Mavericks' commitment to professionalism, excellence, and world-class guest service.

  • Build trusted relationships with players, coaches, executives, ownership representatives, business partners, and guests.

  • Support VIP events, executive meetings, team functions, and special hospitality experiences.

  • Resolve guest concerns professionally, discreetly, and with urgency.

  • Continuously identify opportunities to elevate the overall dining and hospitality experience.


Leadership & TalentDevelopment


  • Recruit, develop, coach, and mentor managers and hourly team members.

  • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, professionalism, and continuous improvement.

  • Conduct performance evaluations, coaching sessions, and development planning.

  • Build leadership bench strength through succession planning and talent development.

  • Lead by example through visible, hands-on leadership and operational excellence.


Service Standards & Training


  • Establish and reinforce exceptional hospitality standards throughout the operation.

  • Lead daily pre-shift meetings, operational briefings, and service training.

  • Coach managers and team members in real time to ensure consistent execution.

  • Promote professionalism, appearance standards, communication, and service excellence.


Financial & Business Performance


  • Support management of labor, scheduling, payroll, controllable expenses, and operational productivity.

  • Monitor staffing levels to ensure efficient deployment of resources.

  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, operational reporting, and financial analysis.

  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency while maintaining exceptional quality and service.

  • Support inventory management, purchasing controls, and cost management initiatives.


Cross-Functional Collaboration


  • Partner closely with the Executive Chef and culinary leadership to ensure seamless execution between front-of-house and culinary operations.

  • Coordinate closely with basketball operations, performance staff, facilities leadership, and administrative departments.

  • Support wellness initiatives, nutritional programming, special events, and organizational activations.

  • Foster collaborative relationships that contribute to operational excellence across the Performance Center.


Compliance, Safety & Risk Management


  • Ensure compliance with company policies, food safety standards, sanitation requirements, and workplace safety procedures.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, professional, and inspection‑ready facility.

  • Proactively identify operational risks and implement corrective actions.

  • Ensure operational documentation, incident reporting, and compliance requirements are consistently maintained.


Qualifications & Experience

Required Qualifications


  • Minimum five years of progressive leadership experience in luxury hospitality, upscale restaurants, hotels, private clubs, executive dining, corporate dining, or professional sports hospitality.

  • Demonstrated success leading high-volume hospitality operations.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Experience managing labor, scheduling, operational controls, and financial performance.

  • Proven ability to coach, develop, and inspire high-performing teams.

  • Exceptional organizational, problem-solving, and decision‑making skills.

  • Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events.


Preferred Qualifications


  • Experience supporting executive dining, professional sports organizations, luxury hotels, or elite private clubs.

  • Experience serving executive‑level guests, professional athletes, or high‑profile clientele.
