Nebraska Medicine in Omaha is seeking an Executive Assistant to provide proactive, high‑level support to Vice President‑level leaders. You will manage complex calendars, coordinate priorities, and prepare polished correspondence and presentations.

You will serve as a liaison to senior leaders, physicians, board members, donors and external partners, while protecting confidential information and exercising independent judgment.

  • Minimum of five years business experience in an executive office position supporting top level executives.

Responsibilities

  • Provide proactive, professional, strategic executive support to Chief and Vice President level leaders.
  • Anticipate needs, manage priorities and ensure coordination of high‑level projects.
  • Prepare high‑quality correspondence, reports and presentations.
  • Manage complex calendars and communications.
  • Serve as liaison to stakeholders including direct reports, senior leadership, board members and external partners.
  • Operate with limited supervision and exercise independent judgment.

Executive Assistant Be the trusted partner behind executive leadership at Nebraska Medicine. Nebraska Medicine is seeking an experienced Executive Assistant to provide proactive, high-level support to Vice President-level leaders. You’ll be at the center of a fast-paced executive environment—managing complex calendars and communications, coordinating priorities and projects, preparing polished correspondence and presentations, and serving as a professional liaison to senior leaders, physicians, board members, community donors, and external partners. This role is ideal for an experienced executive support professional who thrives on anticipating needs, managing competing priorities, protecting confidential information, and making sound decisions with minimal direction. You’ll bring exceptional organization, professionalism, discretion, and communication skills to an executive office where your ability to stay one step ahead can make a meaningful difference. This is a 100% on-campus, Monday–Friday position at Kiewit Tower in Omaha and offers the opportunity to work closely with Nebraska Medicine’s executive leadership and contribute to the operational and strategic effectiveness of the organization.

Details:

Executive Assistant Candidate must live in Nebraska or Iowa. This is a hybrid position, must be able to work on campus. Preferred consideration will be given to applicants with business experience in an executive office position supporting top level executives in a health care setting. Be part of something extraordinary at Nebraska Medicine! The Executive Assistant will provide proactive, professional, strategic executive support to Chief and Vice President level leaders. Anticipate needs, manage priorities and ensure seamless coordination of high-level projects through timely and accurate completion. Serve as a trusted partner and liaison between the executive and key stakeholders including direct reports, senior leadership, board members, community donors and external partners. Prepare high-quality correspondence, reports, presentations, screens and prioritize calls and communications, manage complex calendars and support the overall operational and strategic effectiveness of the executive office. Operate with limited supervision, exercising independent judgment, problem-solving and strategic thinking in the execution of duties and responsibilities. This position is supervised by the Executive Office Manager but provides support to assigned executive level leaders.

Required Qualifications:
  • Executive Assistant • Minimum of five years business experience in an executive office position supporting top level executives required.
  • Executive Assistant • High school education or equivalent required.
  • Executive Assistant • Bachelor's degree in business or related field OR equivalent combination of education/experience combined (one year of education equals one year of experience) required.
  • Executive Assistant • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office suite to include: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook applications required.
  • Executive Assistant • Proficiency and aptitude for other applications that may be used in the course of fulfilling responsibilities, such as Board portals required.
  • Executive Assistant • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, including correct use of grammar, spelling, punctuation, knowledge of business correspondence formats, and a clear, distinct speaking voice required.
  • Executive Assistant • Ability to compose routine correspondence, minutes, reports and other documents required.
  • Executive Assistant • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects and tasks required.
  • Executive Assistant • Ability and maturity to manage highly sensitive and confidential information required.
  • Executive Assistant • Ability to function independently, possesses strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills required.
  • Executive Assistant • Basic knowledge of business contracts and an understanding of corporate documents required.
  • Executive Assistant • Work effectively with staff in a team-oriented environment with a positive, can-do attitude required.
  • Executive Assistant • Adept in developing and maintaining strong relationships with management, staff, physicians and other stakeholders required.
  • Executive Assistant • Exhibit a high degree of professionalism, business judgment, tact and diplomacy required.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Executive Assistant • Business experience in an executive office position supporting top level executives in a health care setting preferred.
  • Executive Assistant • Bachelor's degree in business or related field preferred.
