Job summary

JPMorganChase seeks an Executive Director of Architecture & Engineering to define the technical vision, governance, and standards across Asset and Wealth Management platforms. You will lead with executive authority, shaping agentic AI-enabled engineering, platform modernization, and enterprise-scale governance.

You will drive architecture strategy, establish AI-enabled patterns, and enforce design traceability while mentoring teams and ensuring secure, scalable delivery across the SDLC.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in software engineering & architecture with tech leadership at scale.
• Proven enterprise architecture vision development and governance across multiple lines of business.
• Hands-on leadership to modernize complex systems: CI/CD, automated testing, IaC, secure SDLC with AI adoption.
• Deep expertise in cloud-native, microservices, event-driven, API design, and data architectures.
• Experience applying enterprise‑allowed AI capabilities with validation and data sensitivity awareness.
• Ability to integrate AI-enabled capabilities into scalable platforms meeting resiliency and security requirements.
• Advanced knowledge across technical disciplines (cloud, AI/ML, mobile, etc.).
• Experience driving architecture discussions and solving deep technical problems with delivery teams.

Responsibilities

• Define architecture strategy for AI-native engineering and how AI reshapes SDLC across platforms.
• Establish AI-enabled patterns: code generation with constraints, automated tests, capacity modeling.
• Define governance for AI in engineering: human-in-the-loop approvals and traceability.
• Mentor teams and promote design quality with hands-on engagement.
• Lead cloud-native transformation, API-first design, and data mesh with risk-managed execution.
• Apply enterprise AI capabilities to accelerate architecture roadmaps with appropriate data handling.
• Lead governance with standards, reference architectures, and decision frameworks.
• Drive simplification, reduce technical debt, and accelerate time-to-market.
• Establish reusable AI-enabled patterns with traceability, resiliency, and security controls.
