Job description

Job title

Executive Assistant, Gen Meds

Location: Morristown, NJ

About the job

Join the team transforming how healthcare is delivered for chronic and specialty conditions worldwide. In General Medicines, you’ll help drive meaningful outcomes in diabetes, transplant, and immunology - with the scale and urgency patients deserve.

Overview

The Gen Med Executive Associate serves as a strategic support partner to the Head of General Medicines (Gen Med) North America, one of Sanofi's most critical commercial franchises. This is not a traditional support role - it's a position for someone willing to learn the business, who anticipates needs before they arise, and helps translate leadership priorities into action across a complex, matrixed organization. The successful candidate will operate as an extension of the executive, exercising judgment, managing ambiguity, and driving operational excellence that directly enables the leadership team to focus on growth, patients, and strategic decision-making. Act as a trusted advisor and thought partner to the Head of Gen Med NA, providing context, insights, and recommendations to inform prioritization of topics and decision-making. Anticipate business needs and proactively manage competing priorities across the leadership agenda, ensuring alignment with Gen Med NA's strategic objectives. Serve as a gatekeeper and air-traffic controller for the executive's time, ensuring focus remains on the highest-impact priorities.

About Sanofi

Main responsibilities

Executive & Leadership Team Operations

  • Own the end-to-end management of complex, multi-time-zone calendars, proactively resolving conflicts based on business priority
  • Orchestrate leadership team cadence - business reviews, town halls, off‑sites, and strategic planning sessions - including content coordination with cross‑functional partners
  • Coordinate complex domestic and international travel with full logistical ownership, including contingency planning

Stakeholder & Cross‑Functional Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain a strong network with EAs and business partners across Commercial, Medical, HR, Finance, and Global functions to accelerate execution and information flow
  • Represent the Head of Gen Med NA's office with polish and credibility in interactions with senior internal and external stakeholders
  • Facilitate communication and coordination across the extended leadership team to ensure alignment on priorities and messaging

Operational Excellence & Governance

  • Manage confidential and sensitive business information (organizational, financial, personnel) with the highest level of discretion
  • Oversee expense management, and vendor coordination for the leadership office in compliance with Sanofi policy
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve efficiency within the Gen Med NA leadership office
  • Support workforce planning logistics, onboarding of senior hires, and organizational announcements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience supporting senior executives (VP level or above preferred) ideally within a large, matrixed, global organization
  • High school diploma/Bachelor's preferred

  • Exceptional judgment and ability to operate with autonomy and discretion in ambiguous, fast-moving situations
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information clearly and concisely
  • Track record of successfully managing multiple high-stakes priorities under pressure
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or life sciences, with familiarity with commercial/Gen Med operations
  • Familiarity with Sanofi's internal tools and systems (e.g., Concur, ServiceNow, Workday)

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience
Competencies
