Job summary

Henry Ford Health System seeks an Associate Chief Medical Officer for Primary Care in Detroit to lead quality and performance of our primary care services. This senior physician leader collaborates with CMO, physician leaders, nursing and operations to drive clinical excellence, access, and growth across the South Market.

The ACMO will guide provider engagement, implement system-wide strategies, and ensure adherence to standards while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and teamwork.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree required.
• Residency training in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine expected.
• Board Certification in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine required.
• Licensed or eligible for Michigan medical licensure.

Responsibilities

• Assist the CMO on physician compensation and benefits.
• Oversee Physician Leads and ensure Primary Care mission and goals.
• Participate in hiring/termination decisions with Physician Leads.
• Complete evaluations of Physician Leads and ensure OPPEs/FPPEs are completed.
• Approve FTE changes, PDAs, and provider reimbursement requests.
• Promote quality and patient safety initiatives in primary care.
• Monitor performance metrics and partner to improve clinical outcomes.
• Support recruitment, retention, and leadership development efforts.
• Foster an inclusive, collaborative culture across care teams.
