Job summary

The Redland Company, Inc. is seeking a construction/operator assistant in Homestead, FL. The role requires 5 years of construction experience and a valid Florida driver’s license.

Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred, with a focus on safe work practices, labor tasks, and adaptability to shift work. Responsibilities include loading/unloading equipment, inspecting gear, operating heavy equipment, monitoring performance, and performing routine maintenance and minor repairs as needed.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of construction experience preferred.
• Must have a valid Florida Driver’s License and Social Security Card.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
• Able to work safely within Company policy, OSHA and MSHA Standards.
• Able to do any necessary labor work.
• Able to work adjusted shifts (AM or PM).
• Able to work overtime.
• Must be a Team Player and work well with others.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload equipment from vehicles used to transport it.
• Inspect equipment before and after use to ensure it’s in good working order.
• Drive or operate heavy equipment to complete tasks at the construction site.
• Monitor performance and adjust settings as required to perform tasks correctly.
• Track scheduled maintenance of equipment and notify supervisor if past due.
• Fill out performance records to report problems with equipment.
• Clean equipment after use and dispose of waste.
• Complete minor repair work as needed.
