E-Z Bel Construction in San Antonio, TX is seeking an Excavator Operator to perform trenching, grading, and material handling for various projects. The operator will be responsible for reading project specifications and ensuring compliance with safety standards while working outdoors in varying conditions.
The ideal candidate will have 2–5 years of excavator experience and a commitment to safety and efficiency. Benefits include medical coverage, 401(k), and paid time off.
The Excavator Operator performs trenching, grading, and material handling for utility, roadway, and site preparation projects. The role operates excavators of various sizes with multiple attachments, following survey layouts, grade stakes, and project specifications. Work includes digging, backfilling, loading trucks, placing structures, and maintaining OSHA‑compliant trench protection. Operators must work safely around utilities, spotters, and active traffic while meeting production and quality standards.
Work is performed outdoors year‑round in all weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, and other harsh environments. Must be able to sit for extended periods while operating equipment and perform tasks involving standing, bending, and kneeling. Regularly lifts and carries up to 50 lbs. and occasionally up to 100 lbs. with assistance when handling tools, materials, or attachments. Must tolerate noise, vibration, and dust from excavation operations and maintain situational awareness around moving equipment and active traffic.
May require travel within Texas. Overnight or out‑of‑town stays may be needed based on project location.
