Responsibilities

• Follow instructions from foremen and supervisors to complete tasks efficiently.
• Keep the job site clean and well-organized.
• Handle loading and unloading of materials, tools, and equipment.
• Hand dig with shovels, picks, and digging bars to expose utilities and complete trenches.
• Follow safety standards and pay attention to details.
• Fuel and wash department vehicles.
• Gain essential excavation skills to progress within the department.
• Communicate effectively with crew and clients; understand grade elevations and basic layout techniques.
