Job summary

Avantor is seeking a Material Handling Supervisor, EWM to lead Extended Warehouse Management processes within SAP S/4HANA at our Carpinteria, CA site. You will supervise warehouse material handlers and serve as the Business Process Leader for EWM, ensuring process consistency and performance.

Responsibilities include overseeing picking, putaway, replenishment, staging and shipping; developing SOPs, training end users, troubleshooting EWM issues with IT/SAP, and driving continuous improvement to

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, logistics, operations management, or related field.
3–5+ years in warehouse or logistics with hands-on inventory movement.
Experience leading warehouse staff or material handlers.
Strong SAP/EWM knowledge and problem-solving skills.
Lean/continuous improvement experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

Supervise a team of distribution associates and material handlers.
Set daily priorities and oversee picking, putaway, replenishment, staging and shipping.
Serve as BPL for SAP S/4HANA EWM and ensure process consistency.
Lead real-time monitoring of EWM task queues and allocate labor.
Develop and maintain SOPs, work instructions and training materials.
Troubleshoot EWM issues with IT and SAP support.
Drive continuous improvement to restore pre-SAP productivity and OTIF.
