Job summary

Expleo Group USA is seeking an EWIS Industrialization / Manufacturing Engineer to support on-site aerospace production, ensuring wiring systems are producible, compliant, and production-ready. This role bridges design, manufacturing, quality, and MRB with hands-on shop-floor support and focus on EWIS safety and airworthiness.

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years supporting aircraft wiring/EWIS in aerospace OEM or production environment.
• Strong understanding of aircraft wiring systems, harness manufacturing and installation practices.
• Experience with EWIS regulatory/compliance requirements and MRB-adjacent roles.

• Support the industrialization of aircraft wiring systems (harnesses, connectors, splices, clamps, back shells, protective hardware).
• Ensure wiring designs are producible, installable and compliant with industry/customer standards.
• Assist transition from design release to production by identifying installation risks and driving corrective actions.
• Provide on-site engineering support for production and installation issues related to wiring systems.
• Define acceptable rework/repair solutions while maintaining EWIS compliance.

We're growing our network of experienced Wiring Industrialization Engineers (EWIS) to support current and upcoming aerospace manufacturing initiatives. Our engineers will support onsite aerospace production by ensuring aircraft wiring systems are producible, compliant, and production‑ready. This role bridges design, manufacturing, quality, and MRB, providing hands‑on shop‑floor support while ensuring EWIS compliance, safety, and airworthiness under production conditions.

Responsibilities:

EWIS Industrialization & Production Readiness

• Support the industrialization of aircraft wiring systems, including harnesses, connectors, splices, clamps, back shells, and protective hardware
• Ensure wiring designs are producible, installable, and compliant with industry and customer wiring standards
• Support transition from design release to production by identifying installation risks and driving corrective actions

Shop Floor & MRB Support (Wiring‑Focused)

• Provide on‑site engineering support for production and installation issues related to aircraft wiring systems
• Support MRB activities related to:
• Wire insulation damage
• Harness deviations
• Connector, termination, or shielding issues
• Routing, separation, and protection non‑conformances
• Define acceptable rework and repair solutions while maintaining EWIS compliance

EWIS Compliance & Standards

• Ensure compliance with applicable FAA/EASA EWIS requirements and internal wiring procedures
• Support adherence to SAE AS50881 and equivalent wiring installation standards
• Review and validate wiring changes for safety, flammability, and continued airworthiness

Cross‑Functional Coordination

• Interface with:
• Electrical Design Engineering
• Manufacturing Engineering
• Quality and MRB teams
• Production and installation personnel
• Support wiring‑related engineering changes, deviations, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Compile and generate progress reports to convey deliverable objectives
• Demonstrate a strong work ethic and sense of urgency in supporting production needs

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
• 5+ years supporting aircraft wiring/EWIS in an aerospace OEM or production environment
• Strong understanding of:
• Aircraft wiring systems and installations
• Harness manufacturing and installation practices
• EWIS regulatory and compliance requirements
• Experience in industrialization, production support, or MRB‑adjacent roles
• Familiarity with wiring diagrams, EWIS drawings, and aircraft installation manuals
• Experience working in an embedded engineering services role is preferred
• Hands‑on exposure to shop‑floor wiring installation and integration is highly desirable

• Competitive Compensation - $35 - $40 hourly. Please note that the compensation range displayed is a generalized range for pipelining purposes and may not reflect the final range for a specific role. Final compensation will be determined based on the role, skill alignment, years of experience, and fair, market-based rates by geography.
