Job summary

Shield AI is seeking a Harness Design Engineer to design wire harnesses and cable assemblies for X-BAT, our autonomous UAV platform. You’ll contribute from concept to deployment, ensuring reliability and performance in mission-critical environments.

Collaborating with avionics, systems, supply chain, and manufacturing, you’ll prototype, test, and iterate harness designs, lead technicians, and maintain high standards. Bachelor’s in engineering and 0–2 years experience required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering is required.
• 0–2 years of experience with wire harness designs; professional, personal, or club projects acceptable.
• Experience with 3D CAD tools (NX or CATIA).
• Knowledge of GD&T, tolerance stack-ups, and IPC/WHMA‑A‑620 standards.
• Experience with electrical schematics and connector selection.
• Hands-on harness fabrication or testing experience.
• Ability to work independently in fast-paced, cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Design wire harnesses and cable assemblies for X-BAT and ground equipment.
• Collaborate with electrical engineering to define connectors, current/voltage, shielding, and other design aspects.
• Perform electrical, mechanical, and environmental analysis for harness reliability.
• Prototype and test harnesses in dynamic, mission-critical environments.
• Coordinate with avionics, systems, supply chain, and manufacturing for integration.
• Lead technicians in building, testing, and debugging EWIS components.
