Job summary

Honda Research Institute USA in San Luis Obispo, CA is seeking a Vehicle Dynamics and Control Test Engineer to advance eVTOL flight dynamics and control laws through desktop, piloted-in-the-loop, hardware-in-the-loop, and flight test activities.

You will work with a multidisciplinary team to extend testing infrastructure, perform verification tests, and ensure compliance with export regulations while delivering results that guide configuration design and trade studies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline; Master's preferred.
• 3+ years of aerospace experience with fixed-wing or rotorcraft, modeling, flight control development or testing.
• Strong understanding of rotorcraft/fixed-wing dynamics, stability and control principles.
• Experience with V&V testing infrastructure and capabilities.
• Fluency in Matlab and Simulink; reporting onsite in San Luis Obispo County.

Responsibilities

• Identify key testing conditions for desktop, piloted-in-the-loop, hardware-in-the-loop, and flight test.
• Coordinate, conduct, and summarize results from various test stages.
• Create/review verification tests for handling qualities and flight control laws.
