Job summary

Jackson Hospital and Clinic seeks an Environmental Services Supervisor to assist the Director in maintaining high-quality standards across assigned areas. You will train, supervise, and motivate Environmental Services staff to ensure schedules are followed and tasks completed efficiently.

The role requires strong leadership, practical experience with floor care equipment, and the ability to meet physical demands, including lifting up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; some college experience preferred.
• Prior supervisory experience preferred in housekeeping/Environmental Services.
• Ability to operate and handle floor care equipment safely.
• Must meet physical requirements incl. lifting up to 50 lbs and ability to bend, stretch, and stand.

Job Description

To assist Director in maintaining a high-quality standard by keeping him/her informed on the condition of all assigned areas and by training, supervising, and motivating the Environmental Services personnel to be sure all scheduled and are adhered to and completed.

• A. Education:Requires the ability to read and write and be able to follow oral and written instructions.High School Diploma or GED equivalent required. Some college experience preferred . Some computer skills required
• B. Experience:Previous supervisory experience preferred within the housekeeping/Environmental Services field.
• C.Equipment/Tools/Work Aids:Must be able to operate and handle all types of floor care equipment safely without assistance.Includes, but not limited to, hi and low speed buffers, carpet extractors, wet-vacs, floor scrubbers, various vacuums, flatbeds, linen carts, mop buckets and wringers.
• D . Physical Requirements:Must have the ability to bend, stretch, stoop, lift, and reach repeatedly.Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. repeatedly.Must be able to handle, operate full linen/trash carts and work with all required equipment, chemicals, supplies and any other necessary tools as required by the department supervisor. Must be able to demonstrate satisfactory ability in all sensory areas such as hearing, sight, and vision. Strong verbal and nonverbal communication to communicate and meet all other job requirements effectively. Must be cleared by Employee Health, prior to working in patient areas.
