Job summary

Montefiore Medical Center is seeking an Environmental Services Supervisor to manage the hospital environment across the facility, ensuring a clean, safe, and compliant setting that supports patient and associate experience.

The role oversees regulatory compliance, infection control practices, policies, surveys, payroll, scheduling, staffing, reporting, and EVS systems. Flexibility for evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma; relevant higher education preferred.
• Experience in healthcare Environmental Services is preferred.
• Supervisory or leadership experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily EVS operations across assigned areas and shifts.
• Ensure patient care areas, public spaces, and support departments meet cleanliness and infection control standards.
• Monitor compliance with OSHA, CDC, and hospital regulations and infection prevention guidelines.
• Supervise, train, coach, and evaluate EVS staff to meet performance standards.
• Manage staffing schedules, payroll processes, and workforce planning.
• Conduct inspections and quality audits; prepare for internal/external surveys and address deficiencies.
• Maintain department policies and adherence across the team.
• Oversee inventory management and procurement of supplies/equipment.
• Collaborate with nursing, facilities, infection prevention, and leadership teams.
• Respond to urgent cleaning needs, including isolation rooms and spills.
• Utilize EVS systems for reporting and performance tracking.
• Document incidents, performance, inspections, and compliance activities.
