Job summary

Saracen Casino Resort in Pine Bluff, AR, is hiring a Public Area Attendant to maintain cleanliness of casino facilities, assist patrons, and support housekeeping operations.

Qualifications

  • Must read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Familiar with proper use of cleaning equipment and chemicals.
  • Must be able to obtain a valid gaming license.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Background check and drug screening required.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the cleanliness of the in-house facilities.
  • Empty and clean ashtrays in the casino on a regular basis.
  • Clean, wash and disinfect bathrooms and ensure consistent cleanliness.
  • Wipe and clean gaming devices regularly.
  • Attend to the cleaning and stocking needs of assigned areas.
  • Operate cleaning agents safely and effectively.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to patrons and maintain a professional demeanor.
  • Attend trainings and be flexible with hours on a 24-hour schedule.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervision.

The Public Area Attendantwill be responsible for the cleanliness of all occupied areas both front and back of house according to casino standards. All duties are to be performed within the guidelines of the Saracen Casino Resort’s policies and procedures, Internal Control Standards and objectives.

Essential Functions And Responsibilities
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the in-house facilities.
  • Empty and provide clean ashtrays in the casino on a regular basis.
  • Clean, wash and disinfect all floors, sinks and commodes of bathrooms and conduct routine inspection of bathrooms to ensure consistent cleanliness.
  • Wipe and clean all gaming devices on a regular basis.
  • Discard soiled cups, etc., throughout casino on a regular basis.
  • Responsible for the attending to the cleaning and stocking needs of assigned areas of the casino.
  • Must work with various cleaning agents.
  • Provides exceptional customer service to all patrons and communicates in a pleasant, friendly, and professional manner at all times. Maintains a professional work environment with supervisors and staff.
  • Meets the attendance guidelines of the job and adheres to regulatory, departmental and company policies.
  • Attend all necessary training meetings.
  • Assist in other projects, as directed.
  • Duties, responsibilities, requirements and expectations pertaining to this job are subject to change as needed. Hours are determined by 24-hour schedule.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age or older upon employment.
  • High school diploma or its equivalency preferred.
  • Previous customer service experience preferred.
  • Must be familiar with proper use of all cleaning equipment and chemicals.
  • Previous housekeeping experiences a plus.
  • Must possess excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to write routine correspondence and to speak effectively to the public, employees and customers.
  • Must have the ability to deal effectively and interact well with the customers and employees.
  • Must have the ability to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.
  • Must present a well-groomed and professional appearance.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English. Must be able to respond to visual and aural cues.
  • Must be able to be approved for and maintain a valid gaming license.
  • Work nights, weekends and holidays as required.
  • Employment is contingent upon a favorable outcome of a background investigation and drug screening
PHYSICAL, MENTAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS

  • Must be physically mobile with or without reasonable accommodations and be able to maneuver to all areas of the casino.
  • Must be able to stand and walk 90% of shift while servicing public areas.
  • Must be able to frequently lift, push, or pull 20–30 lbs. (supplies, equipment, trash bags, furniture adjustments).
  • Must be able to push cleaning carts weighing up to 15 lbs. across carpeted and tile surfaces.
  • Required to operate commercial cleaning equipment and conduct continuous wiping, sanitizing, and handling of cleaning tools.
  • Required to frequently bend, reach, stoop, kneel, and crouch to clean restrooms, floors, and gaming devices.
  • Required to frequently conduct continuous wiping, sanitizing, and handling of cleaning tools, cloths, and equipment.
  • Required to operate vacuums and commercial cleaning equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Must be able to tolerate areas containing secondary smoke, high noise levels, bright lights dust, and crowded public spaces.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles and may be exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals.
  • Employee may work with cleaning chemicals, and should be able to properly dilute, use and insure their safety, as well as other who come in contact with chemicals.
  • Maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude to work under pressure in a fast-paced, casino environment and effectively deal with customers, management, employees, and members of the business community in all situations.

Compliance with OSHA Standards and Workplace Safety Regulations: Employees must comply with all occupational safety and health standards, rules, and procedures established by OSHA and Saracen Development, LLC, including any applicable regulations or directives issued under the OSH Act.
