Job summary

Poplar Springs Hospital in Petersburg, VA is hiring a FT EVS / Janitorial Floor Tech to maintain clean, sanitary, attractive and safe rooms and furnishings in assigned areas, following policy and infection control procedures.

You will assist the department in meeting health codes and accreditation standards through routine cleaning, disinfecting, waste disposal, and adherence to infection control practices.

Qualifications

• Education/Experience: High school education or GED required
• Must have basic reading and writing skills
• Must be able to meet physical requirements
• 21 years of age

Responsibilities

• Floor Tech will help to maintain clean, sanitary, attractive and safe rooms and furnishings in the assigned work areas, following established policies and procedures and utilizing approved methodology and solutions.
• To assist the department and hospital in meeting state and local health codes and hospital quality and accreditation standards through procedures which insure acceptable standards of quality and cleanliness.
• Duties include routine cleaning of windows, walls, floors, fixtures and furnishings; disposal of ordinary and contaminated refuse; disinfecting of contaminated areas; bacteriological surface cleaning; pertinent infection control procedures.

Poplar Springs Hospital is a 183 bed acute care and residential facility. For more than 30 years Poplar Springs Hospital has been guided by its mission of helping those who need the full continuum of behavioral health services. Our facility offers behavioral and psychological treatment for adults and adolescents through our acute programs, adolescent residential programs, as well as programs for active duty military.
