Job summary

Churchill Downs Incorporated is seeking an EVS Attendant to keep facilities clean, sanitized, and properly maintained at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Sioux City. You will follow checklists to ensure high standards of cleanliness in guest areas, gaming spaces, and back-office areas.

The role requires attention to detail, ability to read procedures, and a willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays; prior cleaning experience and a gaming license may be required where applicable.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Three to six months of prior cleaning experience preferred.
• Must obtain valid gaming license, where applicable.
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Follow checklists for cleaning assigned areas.
• Vacuum, sweep, mop, and remove debris; clean carpets and floors.
• Clean windows, mirrors, and office spaces; empty trash.
• Sanitize gaming equipment and maintain restrooms.
• Report equipment issues to maintenance; adhere to OSHA.
• Handle spills and hazardous materials properly.
• Work extended hours as needed; maintain discretion with guest privacy.

JOB SUMMARY

The EVS Attendant is responsible for keeping facilities clean, sanitized, and properly maintained.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Follows checklists and guidelines for efficient cleaning of assigned areas
• Maintains cleanliness of carpet and flooring by vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, and removal of debris
• Maintains cleanliness of windows and mirrors
• Maintains cleanliness of gaming equipment by cleaning slot machines, tables, chairs, etc.
• Maintains cleanliness of office spaces by cleaning walls and pantry areas, removing trash, and dusting furniture
• Maintains cleanliness of restrooms by cleaning sinks, urinals, counters, as well as polishing fixtures and stocking supplies
• Cleans spills and removes biohazardous materials
• Keeps storage areas and utility cards maintained and supplied with cleaning materials
• Adheres to local, state, and national work safety regulations, including OSHA
• Notifies maintenance if equipment needs repair
• Performs other related duties as assigned

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and equipment, as well as their respective health and safety protocol
• Detail-oriented and thorough
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret procedures, instructions, and correspondence
• Ability to remain discreet and respect the privacy of guests

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
• Three to six months experience preferred
• Must obtain valid gaming license, where applicable

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS

• The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, climb, balance, push, pull, twist, and bend while enduring prolonged periods of standing and walking.
• The employee may need to exert up to 50 pounds of force.
• The employee will be required to push and pull a wheeled custodial cart or trash cart.
• The employee may be required to work long hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• The employee may occasionally work outside and is subject to all weather conditions.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
• The work environment may vary in levels of crowds, noise, and smoke, depending on the assigned station and customer volume.
