EverHealth, a division of EverCommerce, seeks a Director of Engineering to lead our Updox engineering teams focused on our core communications platform delivering telehealth, fax, SMS, and more via integrated workflows serving the healthcare space. You will oversee multiple engineering teams, including software delivery and QA, fostering innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement while managing the design, development, and delivery of healthcare technology products.

The EverHealth division provides products and services to healthcare professionals nationwide, including platforms like CollaborateMD, eProvider Solutions, Updox, and others.

Responsibilities:

1. Define and implement technical strategies aligned with company goals.
2. Lead multiple engineering teams, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.
3. Oversee the design, development, and delivery of healthcare solutions.
4. Lead the rollout of AI technologies within engineering and product functionalities.
5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams for successful product releases.
6. Ensure best practices in coding, testing, deployment, and software quality.
7. Mentor, hire, train, and evaluate team members.
8. Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends.
9. Facilitate communication within engineering and across departments.
10. Address technical challenges and improve engineering processes.
11. Establish and monitor KPIs for engineering teams.
12. Lead with resilience, navigating uncertainty effectively.
13. Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and address security concerns.
14. Partner with external stakeholders, including EHR partners and prospects.
15. Work with Customer Success and Support to incorporate customer feedback.

Skills and Experience:

• Experience in Healthcare IT, managing healthcare solutions for 5+ years.
• Knowledge of EMR/EHR data models and standards like HL7, FHIR, ICD-10, SNOMED CT, CPT, EDI.
• Understanding of HIPAA compliance and security requirements.
• 10+ years in software development with increasing leadership responsibilities.
• 6+ years in full-stack healthcare application development using technologies like Python, Java, C#/.NET, JavaScript, etc., including API design and database management.
• Experience with mobile hybrid app development (React, Ionic, etc.).
• Deep understanding of software development methodologies.
• Experience working with distributed teams.
• Proven success in product delivery operations.
• Self-motivated with a proactive attitude.
• Strong interpersonal and mentoring skills.
• Comfortable in dynamic, high-growth environments.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.

Location:

This role is remote within the US, with flexibility for in-office work if near an office. Periodic travel may be required.

Compensation ranges from $170,000 to $200,000 USD plus bonuses, based on experience and location.
