Job summary

The Jewish Federation Of Metropolitan Detroit (jfmd) in Detroit, MI is seeking an Events and Special Projects Associate to support the planning, coordination, and execution of impactful community events and programs. You will partner with staff, volunteers, and vendors to deliver mission-aligned experiences that engage participants and strengthen relationships with the Federation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build relationships with staff, volunteers, vendors and donors.
• Experience planning and coordinating events and programs.
• Flexibility to work some evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Support development and execution of creative, mission-aligned events and programs, including timelines and logistics.
• Provide day-of event support: site setup, vendor coordination, staffing, and troubleshooting.
• Track budgets and expenses, process invoices, and identify efficiency opportunities.
• Coordinate cross-department planning with marketing, insurance, scheduling, and other teams.
• Help manage event tasks, timelines, staff, volunteers and on-site vendors.
• Assist in researching and coordinating vendors and planning resources.
