Job summary

Geotab is seeking an Events Manager to orchestrate a global events program with a strategic focus on regional events and the flagship Geotab Connect conference. You will drive end-to-end event management, including budgeting, vendor oversight, content creation, and post-event analysis.

You will collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Product, and BD teams, ensuring alignment with revenue goals, brand guidelines, and data-driven ROI reporting. A hybrid work model and travel across the US are available.

Qualifications

  • 5–8 years of experience in Event Management.
  • Post-secondary diploma/degree with a specialization in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
  • CMP Designation (Certified Meeting Planner) highly valued.
  • High accuracy and meticulous attention to detail is crucial in event execution.
  • Adaptability to work well under pressure with changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Experience with managing a budget.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage industry events for Geotab's portfolios, including pre-planning, execution, and post-event reporting.
  • Manage event budgets and provide timely budget reports.
  • Lead elements of Geotab's marquee annual event, Geotab Connect, coordinating with internal teams and vendors.
  • Recommend strategic software solutions (e.g., Cvent, Sendoso) to improve efficiency and cost savings.

Geotab is seeking an Events Manager who will assume a pivotal role in orchestrating Geotab Events with a comprehensive strategic approach. This multifaceted position encompasses event management operations, budget planning, and event execution. Notably, it spearheads the strategic evolution of our global event ecosystem, delving into the intricate dynamics of annual scheduling and conducting in‑depth pre, during, and post‑event reporting analyses. What you’ll do

The Events Manager will own a portfolio of events developing the strategy and execution of annual Regional Events that support the business objectives and goals as determined by Executive Leadership. In this role you are an autonomous and results‑driven marketing professional, with a track record of executing and delivering highly impactful, large‑scale events. This role will have an expected hands‑on approach with event management, and requires excellent project management skills.

How you’ll make an impact
  • Lead and manage industry events for key portfolios of Geotab's business, including pre‑planning event execution and post‑event reporting.
  • Manage vendor event budget. Handle invoicing for events and provide accurate timely budget reports.
  • Lead elements of Geotab's marquee annual event, Geotab Connect. Work alongside Business Development, Segment Managers, Product, and other internal teams as required. Support in day‑to‑day liaison with production vendors.
  • Research, evaluate and recommend strategic software solutions that create efficiencies, cost savings and established process that deliver business needs (e.g., iCapture, Sendoso, Cvent etc.).
  • Monitor and understand industry trends, identify issues and opportunities and provide recommended action to appropriate stakeholders, gather, integrate information/research and interpret existing views of the target audience to support the development of future events.
  • Maintain and build a comprehensive database of industry contacts, vendors, and venues.
  • Develop event‑specific organizational tools such as production timelines, contact lists, on‑site deliverables schedule and ensure all internal and external individuals supporting designated events/projects are in alignment.
  • Manage, oversee and develop relationships with external vendors (Skyline, metroConnections etc.) and align services and production with internal company brand guidelines, budgets and strategic business goals.
  • Consult with stakeholders in Revenue Generation (Sales), to ensure strategic alignment of goals and provide recommendations on event‑related sales activities.
  • Align with leaders in implementation of Salesforce.com and Marketing Cloud campaign structures and associated lead tracking and lead nurture automation processes to identify ROI results for every event.
  • Lead event specific content creation, communications, and materials for pre‑event, execution, and post‑event stages including outbound email, social media campaigns, videos, presentations, collateral, signage, etc.
  • Actively update the company‑wide global events calendar, keeping all details up to date and accurate.
  • Deliver programs and events to a high level standard of execution and encourage innovation and creativity in event planning and execution.
  • Support Geotab global strategic initiatives.
  • Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction to ensure retention and growth of business through repeat events and developed relationships.
What you’ll bring to this role

  • Strong oral and written communication competency, with ability to influence external and internal stakeholders.
  • Track record of taking ownership and driving results.
  • Proven analytical and data decision‑making capabilities and making business recommendations to drive event performance.
  • Technical competence using software programs, including, but not limited to Google Suite for business (Sheets, Docs, Slides).
  • 15% - 20% Travel required for events (primarily in the US).

Compensation

The annual base salary for this position is the expected annual salary for this role, and may be subject to change. Geotab offers various perks and benefits and other compensation components that an individual may be eligible for. The actual base salary for this position depends on a variety of factors such as but not limited to skills, qualifications, education and overall experience, including the location the applicant lives while performing the job. This also includes equity with other team members and alignment with local market data. All offers of employment are contingent upon proof of eligibility to work and the individual's ability to pass a background check.
