Job summary

Scholars of Finance is seeking an Events Manager to lead strategy, logistics, and execution of regional symposia and fundraising events across the United States.

You will coordinate speakers, sponsors, venues, and volunteers while partnering with student leaders and donors to deliver mission-driven experiences that scale our impact.

Qualifications

3-5+ years of corporate and/or non-profit event planning experience.
Bachelor's degree required.
Ownership of events from conception to execution.
Strong attention to detail, organization and written/verbal communication.
Willingness to travel up to 15% and occasional nights/weekends.

Responsibilities

Oversee planning of 8-10 regional Leadership Symposia across the United States, handling venue, speakers, budgets and sponsorships.
Organize and execute a virtual career fair annually with 20+ partners and thousands of students.
Develop run-of-show plans, timelines and budgets; lead on-site execution from setup to teardown.
Coordinate cross-functionally with Marketing and other teams for unified event delivery.
Manage vendor, venue and sponsor relationships; resolve issues in real time.
Support fundraising events and engage senior executives to advance the mission.

Job Summary

The Events Manager will be a key member of our team and pivotal in bringing Scholars of Finance's gatherings to life. Your responsibilities will span event strategy, logistics, volunteer leadership, speaker and Corporate Partner coordination, and on-site execution. You will collaborate closely with multiple members of our team, student leaders, donors, and partners to plan and deliver world‑class events that advance our vision, mission, and values. What You’ll Do

Oversee student planning of 8-10 annual regional Leadership Symposia across the United States, ensuring all logistical aspects are organized, including venue selection, speaker recruitment, budgeting, and sponsorship
Organize and execute a virtual career fair each year with 20+ partners and thousands of students
Collaborate with student leaders and external partners to develop engaging event agendas and secure high‑profile speakers
Build and manage detailed run‑of‑show plans, timelines, and budgets, and lead flawless on‑site execution from setup through teardown
Manage event timelines and cross‑functional coordination, ensuring all stakeholders—including Marketing—are aligned from planning through execution
Manage vendor, venue, and sponsor relationships, negotiating logistics and resolving issues in real time
Assist in the planning and delivery of fundraising events, and bring together leading executives to fund our mission and programs
Capture and apply post‑event learnings, tracking attendance, satisfaction, and other success metrics to continuously improve each event
Streamline, consolidate, and optimize all event operations to drive efficiency, leverage, and scale
Coach and motivate student volunteers to assist with Leadership Symposia and local partner events
Ensure SOF's mission, vision, and values are powerfully brought to life through every event experience

Elevate SOF's events to make them world‑class gatherings that the most prestigious finance leaders and investors in the world will want to attend and invite their friends and colleagues
Build repeatable, scalable event systems and playbooks that allow SOF to deliver more events, at higher quality, as we grow
Partner with the CEO, COO, VPs, and the broader team to deliver events that deepen our impact, grow our community, and scale our mission to thousands of universities across the financial industry

What You’ll Need

Foundational Qualifications

3-5+ years of corporate and/or Non‑profit event planning experience, showcasing a growth‑oriented trajectory, experience with conferences preferred.
Bachelor's degree
Previous experience of having full ownership and managing events of various sizes and complexities, from conception to execution
Demonstrated expertise in event logistics—venue selection, vendor and speaker coordination, budgeting, and sponsorship
Excellent attention to detail, organization, and strong written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in event and project management tools and Google Suite
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with the capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively
Flexibility to travel up to 10% of the time, including some nights and weekends, for SOF conferences, fundraising events, and quarterly management team off‑sites across the United States
Prior experience thriving in a remote work environment for a significant period of time, able to self‑motivate without constant oversight
