Job summary

Colonial Group is seeking a lifeguard to ensure pool and waterpark patron safety and assist with aquatic programs and operations.

You will enforce park policies, respond to emergencies, provide CPR/first aid, and support staff with training and customer service. Seasonal position; benefits eligibility varies by season.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid American Red Cross Lifeguarding Certification and American Red Cross First Aid certificate or other comparable certification.
• Must be certified in American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer, or become certified within 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Safeguards and regulates the conduct of pool and waterpark patrons. Enforces park policies, rules, and regulations. Rescues patrons and performs appropriate follow-up procedures, including proper use of equipment in first-aid procedures.
• Respond quickly and decisively by establishing emergency and accident procedures and by preventing accidents and eliminating risk.
• Administer CPR and first aid as appropriate per accident protocols; provide written reports on all accidents; maintain updated safety requirements.
• Attend in-service training and instruct staff in certain skills; provide customer service to patrons, including handling conflicts and complaints.
• Operate equipment safely and report unsafe conditions to the supervisor.
• Communicate professionally and courteously with patrons to answer questions and enforce park policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned and maintain regular attendance.

INTRODUCTION TO ROLE

The lifeguard position ensures the safety of pool and waterpark patrons and assists with aquatic programs and pool operations. Work is performed under the general supervision of a Facility Manager.

WHAT YOU BRING

WHAT IT TAKES (PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS)

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, swimming, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift or move items over 50 pounds.
